Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair
I firmly believe in the power of nature and the natural laws of the body. I offer a unique approach to creating a complete and personalized path to wellness.
Joint Replacements- Hip, Knee and Shoulder
Joint replacement surgeries are advanced orthopedic procedures designed to relieve pain, restore mobility, and improve quality of life in patients suffering from severe joint damage due to arthritis, trauma, or degenerative conditions. With extensive training and experience in complex joint replacements, Dr. Rohit V specializes in knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, offering patients state-of-the-art surgical care tailored to their needs.

Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair
Rotator cuff tears are one of the most common causes of shoulder pain and dysfunction. Arthroscopic repair is a minimally invasive technique performed through keyhole incisions, allowing restoration of tendon integrity with less soft-tissue trauma, quicker rehabilitation, and excellent functional outcomes.
Dr Rohit has extensive expertise in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, with particular focus on rotator cuff repair. Over the past decade, He has performed more than 600 arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, managing a wide spectrum of cases ranging from acute traumatic tears to complex, massive and revision repairs. His surgical approach emphasizes meticulous repair techniques, biologic augmentation where indicated, and structured postoperative rehabilitation protocols to optimize recovery.
When is Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair Recommended?
- Persistent shoulder pain that does not improve with rest, physiotherapy, or medications
- Weakness in lifting or rotating the arm
- Difficulty performing overhead or daily activities due to tendon tears
- Shoulder instability or reduced range of motion
- Traumatic injuries or chronic wear-and-tear causing tendon damage
- Night pain disturbing sleep and quality of life

Benefits of Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair with Dr. Rohit
- Minimally invasive surgery with smaller incisions and faster healing
- Effective pain relief and restoration of shoulder stability
- Improved strength and range of motion for daily and athletic activities
- Advanced techniques like patch augmentation and muscle transfer for complex tears
- Reduced risk of complications and quicker return to normal activities
- Tailored treatment plans ensuring long-lasting shoulder health

Arthroscopic Supraspinatus, Subscapularis & Infraspinatus Repair
This procedure involves repairing tears of the major rotator cuff tendons—the supraspinatus, subscapularis, and infraspinatus. Through small arthroscopic incisions, the tendons are reattached to the bone, restoring shoulder stability, strength, and mobility. It is highly effective for reducing pain and preventing long-term dysfunction caused by rotator cuff injuries.

Subacromial Decompression
Subacromial decompression is performed to relieve shoulder impingement caused by pressure on the rotator cuff tendons beneath the acromion. Using arthroscopy, bone spurs and inflamed tissue are removed, creating more space for smooth tendon movement. This reduces pain, improves mobility, and prevents progression of rotator cuff damage.
Acromioplasty
Acromioplasty is an arthroscopic procedure where a portion of the acromion bone is reshaped or removed to relieve impingement on the rotator cuff tendons. It reduces friction, alleviates pain, and restores full range of motion, especially in patients with chronic shoulder pain and tendon irritation.

AC Joint Reconstruction
Acromioclavicular (AC) joint reconstruction is performed to treat joint instability, arthritis, or severe injury. Arthroscopic or minimally invasive techniques are used to repair or reconstruct damaged ligaments and restore joint alignment. This procedure relieves pain, improves shoulder strength, and allows patients to return to normal function.
Superior Capsule Reconstruction (SCR)
SCR is an advanced arthroscopic technique for patients with irreparable rotator cuff tears. A graft is used to reconstruct the shoulder capsule, stabilizing the joint and restoring function. This procedure significantly reduces pain and improves movement, especially when conventional cuff repair is not possible.

Muscle Slide Surgery
Muscle slide surgery involves mobilizing retracted rotator cuff muscles to enable tendon repair in chronic tears. By carefully releasing and sliding the muscles, sufficient length is restored for reattachment. This technique improves repair outcomes, enhances shoulder strength, and prevents further functional decline in complex rotator cuff cases.
Latissimus Dorsi Transfer
This specialized procedure transfers the latissimus dorsi muscle to replace irreparable rotator cuff function. It restores shoulder stability and strength, particularly in cases of massive cuff tears. Arthroscopically assisted techniques improve outcomes, reduce pain, and enable patients to regain active shoulder movements otherwise lost with tendon deficiency.

Cuff Repair with Patch Augmentation
Patch augmentation is used to strengthen rotator cuff repairs, especially in large or complex tears. A biological or synthetic patch is applied over the repaired tendon, enhancing healing and providing additional support. This technique improves repair durability, reduces re-tear risk, and ensures better long-term shoulder function.
